Architecture Culture and History 1

​The culture and history module aims to introduce us to the basic architectural theory through a consideration of intentions, concepts, patterns, disciplines, architectural language and contextual relationships. Other than that it examines architecture history through a chronological survey of the developments of Western architecture from the beginning of time
Project 1- Precedent study and Analysis
For this assignment, we were required to work in groups to study and analyze an architectural site. For my group, we were given the site of St.Mary Cathedral in Kuala Lumpur to work on.

We are asked to compare St.Mary Cathedral with the Gothic Architecture- Reims Cathedral with proper analyse the site in terms of it's characteristics, arrangement, structure and many more factors so that we can compare and contrast it to other architecture.

The final product consist of an A4 sketch journal and also a digital presentation. To produce the sketch journal and video, we determined a theme according to our findings and made everything related to the theme. Each group member was given a task and we all worked together well and happily.

It was overall a great experience. We got to visit places that we wouldn't normally visit. Other than that we developed more understanding about Pre-historic architecture. Moreover, we are able to communicate and expand their own architectural vocabulary and develop design concepts.
